My name is Sofia Cina and I am an emerging artist. I’ve been making art for as long as I can remember. I’ve always drawn. At home, at school, on vacation, really anywhere I have a paper and pencil. And I’ve always been drawn to nature from a very early age.

I soon realized I had an aptitude at painting as well, and I enjoyed the bright colours and detail I could deliver through the medium; something I could never achieve with just a pencil. Though I dabbled in oils and watercolours, my preferred medium is acrylic, and my starring subjects are landscapes of all shapes and sizes.

The canvases I use are relatively small, as I prefer to spend short amounts of time on realistic-looking paintings. I am truly inspired by the greats before me, whose works never cease to teach and amaze me. Although I have tried conceptual art, ironically, I never found as much freedom and happiness as through the confines of mirroring the world before me. I ultimately embraced the fact I was a representational painter, in love with the old masters. Naturalism is my favourite art genre, and I constantly strive to make my paintings more and more realistic as I progress and develop new skills.
